Assistant AccountantLocation: Llanwern / Port TalbotThe purpose of the role is to undertake production-recording, accounting and reporting activities within the Strip Finance Mills and Customer Value Team, supporting the Strip Finance Business Partnering Team. You will be required to work at both sites, and provide cover for the other Port Talbot-based Assistant Accountant roles within the team when required.Your main role will require you to process information in SAP from data provided from the Manufacturing areas and also other Finance departments in order to complete the Manufacturing result for Llanwern. This will involve recording production hours, collatinginformation regarding scrap recoveries, zinc material movements/zinc stock reconciliation and entering journal vouchers into SAP. Responsibilities: * Investigating variances within SAP and analysing the operating costs to explain any large variances to plan* Completing the monthly Roll depreciation calculation and subsequent journal entries/uploads* Monthly Balance Sheet account reconciliations* Monthly review and management of creditor provisioning for core Llanwern creditors* Creation and review of Performance Management Packs and Yield reports providing KPIs and spend monitors for key management meetings* Produce an efficient and effective suite of standardised operational reports and first line analysis to manufacturing operations and functions, ensuring it occurs in an accurate and timely manner* Supporting Slab, Hot Rolled Coil and Cold Rolled Coil Quarterly Stocktakes which will involve collating stock information and assisting auditors* Completing annual Loose Plant and Tool stocktakes for Rolls and Chocks* Supply Chain Transformation process improvement - investigating any differences between the current systems and reports with the new reports and information being developed in SAP * Being a contact to key manufacturing personnel* Assisting with the Standards and Annual Plan process by collating data and uploading information into SAP* Ensure activities comply with internal controls set by the Compliance department* You will also be required to promote a safe working environment and adopt a safety culture ensuring established standards are sustained by all members of finance achieving zero harm* Implement and adhere to a 6S environment and culture* Keeping Standard Operating Procedure documentation up to date and completing any new documents as and when required* Any other ad-hoc work that will be requiredYou will also be expected to cover meetings with the Manufacturing Management team, Operational teams and other departments when the Business Partner cannot attend.
