Job Description

Quality Assurance Lead £22,000 - £26,000 per annum plus benefitsPermanentPontypriddAre you a recent graduate with a Food Science or Food Technology Degree Would you like to work for a company who will invest in your training offering a clear development plan This is a young and growing business who truly believe in providing a gold starservice whilst striving to be the best in the industry. Reporting directly to the Head of Technical your role as Quality Assurance Lead will be to ensure that the business satisfy the requirements of its customers with the correct quality standards.Youll ensure that, through effective procedures, monitoring and coaching that the site and staff comply with all legal food safety and quality obligations as defined by legislation and the BRC Global standard.Your role will be integral as a member of the Site Management Team overseeing the growth and development of the team as well as the development of a strong Quality Assurance culture.As Quality Assurance Lead, youll be.

  • Maintain the food safety management system in line with the requirements of BRC.
  • Driving a culture of continuous improvement through effective data collection monitoring trending and reporting of site quality KPIs.
  • Engage with personnel of all levels on site to measure compliance to standards, evaluate methods and share best practice.
  • Monitoring all Retailer Codes of Practice requirements and effectively communicating these throughout the business.
  • Interpretation of these requirements into Food Safety and Quality Standard.
  • Support site in preparation and during external site audits/visits as required.
  • Analysis of customer and internal requirements and collate suitable documentation to demonstrate compliance.
  • Review and update policies and procedures in a timely manner
  • Engaging stakeholders across multiple disciplines to collaboratively engage and clarify solutions; then support implementation as required.
  • Provide clear guidance to all sites of Food Safety and Quality Standard.
  • Coaching site teams to improve levels of compliance on factory floor.
  • Facilitating and supporting/driving root cause analysis to deliver long-term sustainable solutions to issues as they arise.
  • Auditing the site to ensure compliance to the above.
  • Work closely with the Production Manager and Blenders, ensuring QMS requirements are met.
What youll bring to the team
  • Level 3 or 4 Food safety desirable
  • Level 3 HACCP
  • Qualification in auditing is desirable but not essential
  • Degree in Food Science/Technology
  • Ideally experience of auditing and managing BRC based quality systems
  • Experience in Technical Roles within the food industry/FMCG manufacturing.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft packages
  • Uses all information systems available to them with expertise, analyses, and extracts information to improve effectiveness and efficiency of work responsibilities
  • Demonstrates competent use of new technology and business reporting/information systems.
  • Sets high standards of quality and actively leads by example
