Job Description

NOW Careers is exclusively partnering with a Pontypridd based Community Housing Organisation to recruit an experienced Finance Assistant to join its finance team.Reporting into the Senior Finance Business Partner, the Finance Assistant will assist in the production of monthly management accounts within agreed timescales and ensure that there is full compliance with VAT and Tax legislation. The successful candidatewill actively contribute to continuous improvement and assist on new projects and processes whilst ensuring robust internal controls with respect to the banking function.My client is able to pay circa £30,000 per annum for the successful candidate plus excellent benefits.The main duties of the role will include -

  • Assisting with preparation of management accounts.
  • Ensuring that all transactions are recorded on a timely and accurate basis to ensure prompt production of management information.
  • Ensuring that all reconciliations you are responsible for are carried out at least on a monthly basis.
  • Ensuring any and all journal entries are correctly posted to the ledgers and posting journal entries as required.
  • Carrying out ad hoc project support as required.
  • Ensuring procedures are recorded accurately, are updated and are compliant with the organisation’s financial regulations.
  • Being the first point of contact for any banking queries.
  • Managing the debtor ledger- Raising debtor invoices, credit control and posting of income received, along with periodic reconciliation of outstanding debts.
The ideal candidate will be AAT qualified or have previous demonstrable experience of working in a similar role, whereby you will possess relevant knowledge of Legislation and Financial Regulations. You will be IT literate to include Microsoft & financialaccounting packages and have the ability to maintain sonfidentiality at all times whilst delivering quality work at pace. You will possess good planning and organisation skills, be a confident communicator and be able to work effectively in a team environment.Benefits to include -
