Job Description

CNC MachinistWeekend ShiftAlways wanted to work less hours but still earn the equivalent to a weeks payPMP Recruitment are currently recruiting CNC Machinists with experience within the automotive/manufacturing sectors to join our clients weekend shift team.It is anticipated that the assignment will last for at least six months, but could be longer.Location: PontypoolShift Pattern:Saturday and Sunday 6am to 6pm, total 23 hrs per week(12hr shifts with hr unpaid lunch break)Pay:Attractive rates of pay offered for working this weekend shift pattern, from £18.50ph. Higher rates of pay are available for the right candidates depending on skills/experience.Skills/Experience:

  • Previous experience of setting CNC milling machines is essential
  • Knowledge of CNC metal cutting and boring
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and work to tight tolerances
  • Ability to problem solves any technical issues arising in machining cells.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing/automotive industry
  • Experience in working in a medium/high volume production environment
  • Understanding of quality systems and completing quality checks/gauging
  • Attention to detail is essential
  • Able to work with minimal supervision.
Duties:
  • Carry out setting requirements and changeovers for various machining cells including tooling, fixture changes and ensuring raw material availability for the run
  • Ensuring machines are set up efficiently for production and/or product run minimising downtime 1st off checks are completed.
  • Operate CNC milling machines and provide support to others when not setting.
  • Responsible for monitoring product quality via visual inspection and/or via gauge measurement
  • Monitor and record production output vs target and record any downtime and rejects
  • Carry out daily machining checks
  • Maintaining a safe and clean working environment at all times
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities to improve productivity, quality and machine availability
