Job Description

I am working with an established third sector organisation who are recruiting for a new role within their business which will report into the CEO and be responsible for Finance & Resources. This newly created Head of Resources role is a hybrid role, workingfrom home and the office.As the Head of Resources, you will be responsible for the back-office functions of Finance and HR and critically the development and ownership of data and management information. You will provide professional leadership in areas such as KPI development aswell as Finance and HR matters and you will be central to all strategic decision making particularly regarding business development and investment. You will undertake the role of Company Secretary to the Board and be the lead contact for Auditors.Specific Responsibilities:

  • Be an integral part of the Executive Team
  • Financial planning and management of all budgets
  • Management of all taxation, charity and business compliance matters
  • Management of procurement, business efficiency reviews and grant applications to enable financial growth
  • To take the role of Company Secretary and ensure it operates with effective governance
  • Create effective financial plans and strategies to ensure the organisations financial stability, efficiency, business growth and long-term viability.
  • Provide strategic and professional leadership particularly in the areas of Financial, Human Resources and use of Information Technology and Governance.
  • Ensure the production of data driven management information to manage the organisations development and business strategies including a range of KPIs to measure performance.
  • Create opportunities for income generation through Department Business Plans and Charitable Grant opportunities.
  • Lead and support major revenue and capital projects, business development opportunities and investment decisions.
  • Undertake the role of Company Secretary to the Board and ensure the organisation fulfils all its related legal obligations and operates under the good governance code.
  • Professionally manage the Finance and HR functions putting in place high standard policies, procedures and processes to ensure the integrity of the financial records and to meet all regulatory, taxation and statutory responsibilities.
  • Produce and present monthly reports to the Executive and the Board.
  • Undertake regular statistical analysis of financial and user information in order to highlight trends within the operation and to formulate future strategies.
  • Work as a productive member of the Executive Team and deputise for the Chief Executive as and when required to do so.
  • To be the lead contact for external auditors and to prepare the annual income and expenditure information for submission
  • To take the lead on the Company annual report
  • To provide the departments with financial information on a monthly basis.
  • System. To provide timely and accurate performance and activity reports. Full training will be provided on this system.
  • To ensure that the financial transactions are carried out in an appropriate manner and that the financial regulations are observed.
  • Using advanced management information to improve provision and timetables and cope with fluctuations in demand.
Person Specification:
  • Previous experience of heading a finance and resources function. Worked at a Senior Management level and in a Senior Management Team.
  • To be a fully qualified accountant or a part qualified accountant with at least 5 years experience.
  • The post holder will be expected to operate with a significant degree of flexibility and will be required to manage and prioritise work commitments.
  • The post holder will be required to travel independently to any of our Leisure Facilities and the role will include some evening and weekend working.
