Job Description

Step Teachers are currently looking for a highly skilled Cover Supervisor who is able to provide cover in our schools in Plymouth. This could be a fantastic opportunity for aspiring teachers who are looking to get into teacher training, or individuals lookingto gain some practical, hands-on classroom experience.As a cover supervisor. you could find yourself in a different school, or different class every day, so flexibility and adaptability will need to be demonstrated consistently by the ideal candidate. Cover supervisors can be another uncertainty for children,and you will need all your skills to build relationships quickly and to make a difference, but the rewards are worth it. You will find that schools will ask for you back, children will be pleased to see you again and, on many occasions, short term supply willlead to longer or permanent opportunities.As a cover supervisor you will need:

  • A relevant degree in your desired subject.
  • Direct working experience with children (either through voluntary placement or employment.)
  • The ability to show a great level of flexibility.
  • The ability to adapt to change with a positive can-do attitude.
