Job Description

Come and join us at Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) as a Supply Chain Manager in the Naval Ship Support (NSS) team.We operate within the Future Maritime Support Programme (FMSP), a programme which includes all aspects of Naval Base Support and warship and submarine engineering. From the beds Royal Navy (RN) personnel sleep in, to the warships and submarines they servein, the FMSP will support this in every UK Naval Base.Our team manages the Ships Engineering Contract with Babcock Marine, in Devonport within the FMSP portfolio supporting the RN’s Complex Warships- such as Type 23 Frigates and Landing Platform Docks (LPD) delivering improved availability, resilience, andcertainty of delivery.You will manage the delivery of Supply Chain activities covering Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) management, Supplier Management, Materiel and Financial Accounting, Inventory Disposals, Customer Demand Planning, Inventory Supply Planning, Supply ChainPerformance Management, and Item Data Management.The role is based in our offices at HMNB Devonport, Plymouth and in-office attendance is required 3-4 days per week. Occasional travel will be required to our Head Office at Abbey Wood (ABW), near Bristol.   • Collation and maintenance of internal GFE records to include database maintenance and updates.
  • Supplier liaison on all GFE related matters, to include organising and chairing face to face meetings in line with governance and contract.
  • Involvement in GFE activities relating to the inspection of receipted goods and completing the relevant paperwork.
  • Occasionally undertaking physical GFE stock checks.
  • Monitoring delivery performance and tracking any outstanding issues until resolved.
Person specificationTo be successful with your application, youll need to show that you meet the following essential criteria:
  • Experience of stakeholder engagement and delivering quality customer service.
  • Background of working within a Supply Chain environment.
  • Skilled in handling, interpreting, and reporting on data.
  • Experience of working within the boundaries of a contract.
  • Experience in using Logistics Information Systems.
In addition to the responsibilities above, the following technical competences and behaviours will be assessed at interview:
  • Stakeholder Management - Practitioner level
  • Supply Chain Storage and Distribution for Inventory - Expert level
  • Communicating and influencing - CSBC3
  • Managing a quality service - CSBC3
