Job Description

Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SENTA)

  • Salary: £85 per day minimum
  • Location: Plymouth
  • Job Type: Full-time, Term-time
We are seeking a dedicated Special Needs Teaching Assistant (SENTA) to join a supportive school team in Plymouth. This full-time, term-time role is set to start in the spring term, offering a great opportunity for individuals passionate about making a differencein special needs education. Initially on a temporary basis, there is potential for a contract for the right candidate. Day to day of the role:
  • Work within a classroom setting, supporting the learning and development of students with special needs.
  • Maintain a calm and patient demeanour in potentially stressful situations.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by adapting to changes, such as working in different classrooms if required.
  • Ensure reliability and punctuality in attending the school from 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Utilise excellent communication skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A passion for working with others, particularly in an educational setting.
  • Patience and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
  • Flexibility and openness to change.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Previous experience is not essential as training will be provided.
