Job Title: Senior Health Physicist- DisposalsLocation: Plymouth, Devon, GB, PL1 4SGCompensation: £44,205.00 + BenefitsRole Type: Full time/ PermanentJob ID: SF40478We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Health Physicist (Disposals) within the Radioactive Waste Management Team, working with Radioactive waste across site. Our team comprises of the Plant Manager Radioactive Waste, Principal Health Physicist (RWM),Senior Health Physicist (RWM), Health Physicist and Health Physics Manager(s). You will have line manager responsibility to a Health Physicist and Health Physics Manager(s).Who we are looking forWe are looking for an individual who is professionally qualified to be SQEP within the role. You also need to be a Radiological Protection expert - Society of Radiological protection. The SHP (Disposals) role is relatively unique in that it requires an in-depthtechnical knowledge and understanding of national Integrated Waste Management strategies and principals to ensure safe and compliant preparation, storage, treatment, transfer and disposal of radioactive material on and off the DRDL site.What will you be doinga) Processing, storage and disposal of radioactive wasteb) Consignment of radioactive materialc) Portable and installed radiation and contamination monitoring equipmentd) Preparation of radiological safety related documentationThe experience youll bring* Degree in radiological protection* Will need an accredited (RWA or RPA (Radiological Protection Accreditation)* Masters in Radiological Protection or Waste Management. * Experience on site will be trained.* You will need to satisfy security requirements.
