REED Education are currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant for an SEN schoollocated in Plymouth. This is a temporary role until the end of this academic year. The school provide education and support on a day basis to Key Stage 2-4 pupils with Social, Emotional and Behavioural Disorders (SEBD). With this in mind, the pupils can at times display quite challenging behaviour towards themselves, other pupils and yourself as a staff member therefore, the role would suit someone with a Team Teach qualification who can respond to these issues in the same holistic way the school itself would.Although sometimes challenging, the rewards that come from assisting pupils with SEBD will offer great job satisfaction and sense of achievement. From their next Teaching Assistant, the pupils are looking for a positive, encouraging, firm but fair role model who is also caring and can show empathy when needed. To provide the pupils with the best level of care and support, you will have experience of assisting pupils with additional learning needs within a specialist setting. This is an essential requirement for this role. Ideally, you will hold a relevant Team Teach qualification and have previous experience assisting pupils with SEBD. There will be times where the students education will take them outside of the school, which means that the successful candidate will have a valid driving license, access to a vehicle, business insurance, and be comfortable transporting students in their vehicle. For an immediate discussion regarding this role please call me on or alternatively you can email myself on requesting a call back at a convenient time for you.REED Education are currently working with a number of SEN schools across Devon and Cornwall with varying levels of specialist needs, recruiting Teachers and Teaching Assistants. Should the above role not be of interest to you, please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss how I can help find the right for fit for you.
