Job Description

DK Recruitment are currently recruiting for x2 Quality Inspectors to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Plymouth.Main Duties:As a Quality Inspector/Technician you will support the inspection department through basic inspection of goods using visual inspection and basic measurement techniques. Gaining a key understanding of engineering drawings you will be able to identify andcheck the key features for conformance, as well as preparing goods for the next process while working in a fast paced environment.Key Responsibilities:

  • Visual Inspection of parts to cosmetic requirements.
  • Inspection of parts using basic measurement equipment (to be developed).
  • Inspection and recording of paperwork from sub-contractors.
  • Preparing (wrap & pack) Parts and Advice notes to be dispatched.
  • Inspection of parts in-process at varying stages of production.
  • Use of CMM inspection equipment (to be developed)
Key Skills:
  • Methodical approach to work ensuring the correct accounting for parts and traceability in a timely manner.
  • Basic understand of engineering drawings.
  • Detail orientated able to spot / detect irregularities.
  • Can do attitude able to work to targets in a busy manufacturing environment.
  • Willingness to aid in other areas of the company if required, assembly / dispatch.
  • Ability to adapt and learn varying standards and requirements within a continually changing product catalogue.
Essential:
  • Good verbal and written communication
  • Experience working in a manufacturing / production environment.
  • Use of basic measurement equipment (gauges, callipers, micrometres, height gauge, shadowgraph).
  • Organizational skills, accuracy and an attention to detail
  • Basic understanding of drawing principles.
  • Capable of working with minimal supervision

This is a role you will develop into, over time you will gain a level of understanding of the part / drawing and knowledge of the machining process required by an inspector, it is not just measuring parts but being a critical eye for all aspects of the quality.Additional Information:
  • Vacancy: Mon-Fri 10:00-18:30
  • Flexibility with overtime requirement
