Job Description

Project Controls ManagerPlymouth GB, PL1 4SGCompensation: £50,510 + BenefitsFull Time/Permanent PositionSF38406We are looking for a Project Controls Manager to join the team working in the Warships business unit based in Devonport as a part of the Support Division of Babcock International Group.What will you be doingAs the Project Controls Manager, you will manage the resources required to deliver and support the programme. You will ensure the quality and timeliness of deliverables to meet contractual requirements and emergent requests in support of the project teams.Additionally, you will develop, produce and continually improve the Project Controls Management Plans and processes that demonstrate the effectiveness of the Warships Project Controls function.You will further ensure that processes are consistently applied across the programme. It will be your responsibility to support and advise on the definition of Project Controls and Earned Value Management policies, procedures and the standards required todeliver projects. You will lead on aspects of Warships transformation projects to enable delivery of our financial savings commitment.As the successful candidate, you will enjoy working with a developing PMO team and engage both internally with business and programme leaders as well as important stakeholders of our customer community.What do I need to do the roleYou will need demonstrable financial awareness. A qualification in Finance, Engineering or Business would also be desirable.We would also like you to have the following:

  • APM Level D Project Management or equivalent experience.
  • Significant experience in Project Controls including the use of EVM, SRA & CRA.
  • Project, Change, Finance and Risk Management experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of Naval support: an understanding of Upkeep and Fleet Time Support Period planning and delivery processes.
  • Working in partnering and collaborative working environments with customers and other companies.
  • Experience in controlling classified and sensitive information.
