Job title: Production Manager - Alstom RCS (Rail Control Systems) Job location: Plymouth Salary: Negotiable Shifts: Days Duration: Contract - 12 - 18 months with potential extension Company Description My client is a global leader in rail technology and delivers innovative products and services that set new standards in sustainable mobility. Their service offering covers design, development, manufacture and service of rail signalling devices. Role Summary* In this role, you will organise and control inventory to meet manufacturing and material flow needs and maintain production within agreed delivery schedule. * You will proactively manage bottlenecks using a highly visible system and resolve problems. Ensuring that workplace organisation standards are established to clean, organise and maintain a safe workplace and surrounding environment.* Together with the team, analyse information on disturbances and implement solutions using continuous improvement methodology. * You will also need to ensure that quality requirements appropriate to the work content of the area are defined and available and conduct regular team meetings to systematically review feedback/forward information for external and internal suppliers. * You will manage a team of at least 30 people and you will work closely with a number of Team Leaders. Ensuring that colleagues are skilled to undertake specified maintenance tasks and that critical equipment is identified and the team actively works to improveequipment availability, reliability, robustness, and capability.
