Job Description

Location: Plymouth, DevonRole type: 12-month contractRate: Negotiable (Inside IR35)Other: Hybrid working (2-3 days on site per week), 36 hours per week.The Energy Division at ARM is currently recruiting for an experienced Procurement Managerto join our client, who are an established British Defence and Nuclear Engineering business.Main Purpose of the role:

  • Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain, the main purpose of this role is to lead one of two Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) Teams, which are placed to enhance the Depts continued transition to tactical and strategic service provision.
  • Comprising members of the Depts expert buyer personnel, the team purpose is to act as category and supplier experts to all BUs for both materials and services by providing supply chain procurement expertise to increase value outputs.
  • A key target of the team is to build on existing supplier relationships, as well as forming new connections, to further influence supplier performance and value outputs.
  • The SRM Team are further responsible for delivering and trouble-shooting performance of all supplier related activities, effectively and efficiently, to ensure that key objectives and deliverables are achieved.

  • Occupation of a previous Procurement & Supply Chain managerial role with dedicated direct reports
  • Demonstrable experience of presenting orally and in writing to senior mgmt. stakeholders (board level preferred) and working with stakeholders at all levels
  • Tangible experience of high value delivery through teams in a procurement and supply chain capacity through tactical and strategic activities (Sourcing Strategy / Category Strategy / Business Strategy)
  • Strong Leadership experience
  • In depth knowledge and significant experience of managing procurement and supply chain material and/or service requirements - (both preferable)
  • Evidence of developing and implementing a team growth/development strategy
Qualifications:
  • Relevant Bachelors Degree (or equivalent)
  • MCIPS or equivalent professional qualification
