Operations Manager with excellent organisational, administrative and management skills who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys a challenge and is adaptable, flexible and self-motivated is required for a well-established Academy Trust basedin Plymouth, Devon, South West England.SALARY: £24,987 - £27,330 per annum + Benefits including- LGPS pension, great career progression and development opportunities and access to the company Employee Assistance Programme with many other benefits.LOCATION: Plymouth, Devon, South West EnglandJOB TYPE: Full-Time, PermanentWORKING HOURS: 37 hours per week, 41 weeks per annum, Monday to Friday 08:15 to 16:15JOB OVERVIEWWe have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Operations Manager with excellent organisational, administrative and management skills who thrives in a busy environment, enjoys a challenge and is adaptable, flexible and self-motivated.Working as an Operations Manager you will be responsible for the management and delivery of all non-teaching related services including office and administrative services and involves working with the Executive Business Manager and the Senior LeadershipTeam of the School.As an Operations Manager you duties will include leading and managing a team of administrators, being the key point of contact for all staff, developing, implementing and maintaining new systems and processes, preparing documents, handling correspondenceand dealing with sensitive and confidential issues.As an Operations Manager you will be highly organised, adaptable and innovative and able to multi-task and work accurately and efficiently under pressure in a fast changing environment.   • Provide management for the non-teaching related services within the school in order to contribute to the achievement of the vision of the academy
  • Primary point of contact and to work in collaboration with Trust central teams, such as the EBM, HR, estates, ICT, Project Management and Finance Teams
  • Work alongside the Headteacher, the senior leadership team and beyond to ensure the aspirational aims and objectives of the School and of the Trust are achieved
  • Contribute towards the planning, development and organisation of the support service systems, procedures and policies
  • To be innovative and creative in all aspects of organisational development and significantly contributing to the growth and well-being of the School
  • To lead, with the Headteacher and senior leadership team, in developing and managing processes, systems and policies to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the School
  • Support marketing and promotion of the school
  • Coordinate admission arrangements of pupils, maintain waiting lists and allocate nursery spaces accordingly to the schools admission policy
  • Supervise, train and develop administrative staff as appropriate
  • Organise school visits / events, school photographer/parents evening/tours etc
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Relevant Management Qualification or demonstrable management experience
  • Degree or significant experience in a relevant field
  • Educational management experience would be highly desirable
  • Experience of managing and leading staff
  • Experience in school finances would be desirable
  • Experience of working with HR systems and procedures
  • Analysing and evaluating data
  • Managing attendance and admission records
  • Experience of project management e.g. building projects
  • Ability to analyse, interpret, collate and present management information through reports and plans
  • Knowledge of GDPR 2018 and Data Protection Act 1998
  • Ability to effectively manage varied functions
  • Ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels e.g. Governors, leadership team, teaching staff, contractors, caretakers
  • High level IT skills particularly in Excel spreadsheets and Word
  • Personable, approachable, able to explain complex issues
  • Able to cope with varied pressures and work to deadlines
  • Strategic approach to planning and business development
  • Understanding of, and ability to comply with the requirements of safeguarding/Child Protection
  • Ability to travel
  • Knowledge of school information management systems-E.g., Arbor
