22.5 hours per week – permanent.The Community Neuro Rehab Team provides community and outpatient rehabilitation for patients with neurological conditions. Conditions seen include stroke, multiple sclerosis, acquired brain injury and a variety of other neurological conditions. We are a multi-disciplinary service, which includes physiotherapy, but the service also has close links with neuro-psychology, speech and language therapy and specialist nurses.This post is an exciting opportunity to develop clinical skills within neurological rehabilitation and participate in current service developments. Key clinical elements of the post include: upper limb rehab; assessment and treatment of cognitive problems; thermoplastic splinting; fatigue management; Post concussion support and management; functional and standardised assessments. There will also be managerial responsibilities such as supervision of Therapy Support workers and students. This post is suitable for an experienced Occupational Therapist, requiring a minimum of four years’ post qualification experience, including a minimum of two years working in neurology. The successful candidate will also be an excellent communicator, demonstrating flexible problem solving skills and the ability to work independently.This Band 6 post is a permanent vacancy; 22.5 hours per week: Monday-Friday.We provide support through regular line management and clinical supervision, as well as provision of in-service training and a journal club across the neurological services.Livewell Southwest values its staff and makes investment in their development a priority.
