Job Description

Our client a UK leading equipment and plant hire company is looking for a Mobile Plant Mechanic (Fitter) to cover the Plymouth area.As a Mobile Plant Mechanic (Fitter) you will play a pivotal role in the success of the depot by ensuring that their customers can hire what tools and equipment they need. As part of their high-performing depot team, you will be responsible for attendingcustomer sites and breakdowns to maintain, identify and repair any faults or damage the fleet equipment whilst accurately updating service records.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To diagnose faults and repair/maintain a variety of plant including compressors, mini- excavators, dumpers, small tools etc, both on and off site.
  • Check and tag all equipment and update service records.
  • Maintain an up to date knowledge of products and full range of accessories.
  • Completion of all test certificates and associated paperwork.
  • Abide by customer Health & Safety rules when on site.
  • Keep workshop and vehicle (where provided) organised, clean and tidy and assist with general workshop duties as and when required.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as deemed necessary by the Foreman or General Manager.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Proven experience working as a plant mechanic/fitter in a field-based role
  • CITB/NVQ qualification is preferable
  • Sound and current knowledge of heavy plant machinery maintenance
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy with the ability to work effectively under pressure
  • A customer-focused approach workload and committed team player
  • A valid driving licence is essential
