Job role: Mechanical Engineer Location: Plymouth Salary: Competitive Contract: full-time, permanent Hours: Mon-Thu 08:00 - 16:30, Fri 08:00 - 15:30 (flexibility considered) Are you a skilled Mechanical Engineer looking for a new challenge If so, this could be the perfect role for you!You will be part of a well-established engineering team working alongside dedicated, highly motivated, and skilled engineers. Established over 50 years ago this company is the leading manufacturer of its kind and has a international reputation.Key Responsibilities:* Ensuring that current processes and or machines meet World Class Status measure against Process Capability Indices* Ensuring new processes or machinery are implemented and are capable to specified* Process Capability Indices* Undertaking a lead role in new product introduction projects* Identifying, taking ownership of, facilitating, supporting, and encouraging continuous improvement activities* Ongoing professional development through continuous support and successful implantation of manufacturing strategy* Supporting the head of industrial Engineering to meet targetsExperience and qualifications:* A minimum of HNC in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering* Experience of high-volume sheet metal fabrication process including bespoke machinery, robotics and fig/ fixture design * Good working knowledge of PLCs would be an advantage* Previous experience of implementing processes in a Lean Manufacturing environment Desired skills: * Work to deadlines* Have effective communication skills* Work well as part of a close - knit team* Be flexible and proactive in your work If this sounds like the perfect role for you, please apply here or get in touch with Hannah Dean at Acorn Recruitment.Acorn Recruitment acts as an employment agency for permanent recruitment.
