KPM has been accredited with the Investors In People Award and a Platinum Award from the Business Health Network.The Material Control Supervisor will be responsible for heading up the material control and replenishment activities for production requirements and the management of indirect and miscellaneous purchase order placement. Materials are either sourced via local suppliers or supplied as Factored & KD parts sourced from KHI in Japan. The role is also responsible for the management of Inbound logistics activities including airfreight and sea freight agency liaison.The role is integral in ensuring KPM UK is recognised as a world class manufacturing site able to exceed demanding customer requirements. Responsible for managing the team of materials and inventory controllers and Indirect & Logistics buyer, to achieve the required performance results aligned with the company’s strategy "Top Brand" and customer specific requirements.Reporting to the Planning & Materials Manager the role will lead and coordinate KPM UK’s raw and component material and inventory control improvement program in a cross-matrix organisation, by giving adequate support to the business using quantitative process data in order to achieve targets, drive improvements, improve profitability and reduce waste.The Material Control Supervisor will

  • supervise material and inventory requirement activities across the full range of production demand through Day-to-Day supplier liaison and co-ordinated cross functional communications.
  • be responsible for all manufacturing product demand against scheduled MRP driven requirements.
  • Ensure EPO/PO/Schedule are issued to Suppliers and Miscellaneous PO requirement, including Indirect PO order coverage.
  • Ensure we analyse, co-ordinate and confirm material availability and either increase, expedite or delay deliveries in accordance with production needs.
  • Manage inventory through an agreed stocking and replenishment strategy.
  • Manage schedule / PO change requirements to meet Operational needs.
  • be responsible for Operational Performance Management through defining measurement techniques and maintain all Purchasing and Material inventory performance KPIs, including OTD/OTIF, RTS payment, debt recovery, query resolution, raw and component material inventory management.
  • prepare and present reports detailing the performance against defined KPI’s in support of the overall Company strategy.
  • lead problem solving, overseeing all root cause investigations on key performance issues, including recording and providing feedback to key stakeholders addressing complaints related to delinquent performance.
  • Operate within parameters of Supplier SLAs and ensure compliance through regular KPI performance measurement and cross functional feedback.
  • be responsible for and ensure that all documentation is correct and that team members are aware of the correct operating procedures for their respective activities.ensure core tools are used to improve performance and a consistent approach is taken across product lines including the use of best practice techniques
  • be actively involved and continually look to enhance our use of SAP systems via new techniques & technology and their integration into the process in line with the Business Strategy.
  • continuously improve the performance of the Materials & Inventory Controllers and the Indirect & Logistics Buyer through mentoring and coaching and lead through effective communication & recognition.be responsible for their own and the Material & Inventory Controllers’ and the Indirect & Logistics Buyer’s personal development in line with the business needs.
  • be responsible for ensuring that any workload and capacity limiting issues are identified, working with the team to ensure business requirements are not adversely impacted.
