Job Description

Pertemps are currently recruiting for Team Leaders to join our clients Imports department due to their growth and development.The positions offer an exciting and challenging opportunity to work within the multiple areas of international trade and be a part of their ongoing success.As the Team Leader you will play an important part within the department to take responsibility of the day to day team development, progression and workload management.Your day to day responsilibilites will invole:

  • System ReportsPreparation, validation, data integrity
  • Workload Management of Import team members
  • Support, motivation, training and development of Import team members
  • Conducting 1st round interviews
  • Return to work meetings
  • 1-2-1 & development meetings with Import team members
  • Disciplinary note taking
  • SOP Documentation & process reviews
  • Trainingprogram, manuals, and staff progression records
  • KPI reporting
Although experience of International Logistics (import container seafreight / customs procedures), would be an advantage, the team leader roles focuses on the ability to manage staff workloads, whilst motivating, supporting and developing the team skills andbest practice processes. The Import Management Team will support the knowledge and direction of the roles, but you will need the drive and determination to spend time with your import colleagues to enable you to understand the current working practices. Thedepartment is extremely busy, so the ability to work well under pressure, multitask whilst maintaining accuracy and high levels of productivity is essential. The role will suit someone who works best when under pressure with excellent time management, organisationand people skills.
  • Previousteam leader experience, able to motivate staff with clear and effective communication
  • Drive to develop own learning, with excellent organisation skills and ability to prioritise own workload
  • The ability to work calmly when under pressure
  • Excel Advanced usermust be able to manipulate and validate excel reports (Vlookup & Pivot tables will be frequently used)
  • Competent in Microsoft 365 & online platforms.
