Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a hardworking and pro-active Imports Administrator to join our highly reputable retail client based in their Head Office in Plymouth.As the Imports Administrator, you would be joining a busy and lively department, suiting a strong Administrator who enjoys a challenge and likes problem solving. If this sounds like you, then look no further!Within the role, there are opportunities for future progression for those who demonstrate they have the drive, skill, and ability - could this be you As the Imports Administrator you will:

  • Handle and register in excess of 20,000 containers a year
  • Process shipping documents, preparing custom entries, and expedite shipments and container releases with suppliers.
  • Check and raise international payments
  • Investigate and resolve shipment issues
  • Update & monitor information onto their bespoke intranet-based system
  • Raise & resolve claims with suppliers (UK & International)
  • Do invoice checks, entries and queries
  • Handle Brexit transactionsEU & Ireland clearanceprocess & compliance checks
  • Carry out general admin & correspondence within the import department
What do you need to be the successful Imports Administrator
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise your workload
  • The ability to communicate effectively with a range stakeholder
  • The ability to work calmly when under pressure
  • Confident with IT systems, particular Microsoft 365 (office), online platforms
  • Intermediate level Excel, must be confident in use and quick learner
Experience of International Logistics (import container sea freight / customs procedures) would be an advantage, however it is not essential, as training will be provided.Full time working hours are from 08:45-17:30 and this is a temp to perm position.
