Job Description

Manpower Supply Chain has a new opportunity for an experienced General Manager to work for the Trenching and Shoring Department of our Tool and Plant Hire client based in Plymouth. You will lead, develop, and motivate the staff at the depotby example and will also be required to ensure a consistently high level of quality service, equipment, premises, and people as well as ensuring complete customer satisfaction, delivering the sites growth in revenue and profit.Salary and benefits: 37/40K depending on experience plus company vehicle and potential to earn 45% capped bonus!Shift pattern: Monday to FridayWorking hours: 07:30 - 17:00 with two 15-minute tea breaks and 30-minute lunch breakKey responsibilities:~PROFITABILITY: ensure the depot meets its annual budgeted profit.* Effective management of all employees within the depot* Production of monthly KPI report within 5 days from receipt of P&L* Maintain budgeted margins throughout all areas of the P&L* Effective control of costs* Achieve budgeted revenue in all areas* Identify failings, produce solutions then implement and follow through* Produce annual budgets in conjunction with the Non-Mechanical Operations Managers* Assume responsibility for and protect all company assets held at the depot under the GMscontrolSALES: ensure the depot meets its annual sales budget.* Work closely with the Technical Sales Representative* Maintain close "high level" contact with key regional, local and national account customerswithin the area* Ensure consistent high quality of customer satisfaction* Consistent delivery of the company sales strategy both internally and externally* Work closely with major accounts team to grow revenue* Promote the "can-do" team culture, (everyone plays a part in sales)PEOPLE: Lead, develop, and protect the staff within your depot.* Monitor and promote all health and safety procedures* Promote teamwork and co-operation within the depot and across the region and group* Inspire and deliver a "Can Do" attitude from the depot team* Manage the Human Resource function within the depot, in co-operation with HR* Resolve performance issues directly in relation to depot staff in consultation with HR andyour Divisional Operations Manager* Take time to interact with every staff member during the working day* Carry out annual appraisals or job chats with all depot employees* Manage the annual salary review under direction from HR and your line Manager* Treat everyone fairly and with respect* Identify where training is required and work with L&D to resolve* Understand and work within the employees handbook and HR procedures file* Facilitate regular depot meetings and produce short minutes* Take an involvement in major social events within the depot, both customers and staffADMIN: Consistently achieve the expected level of Admin both personally and from within your depot.* Produce accurate monthly KPI reports for the Head of department* In conjunction with relevant staff, produce detailed action plans where failings exist* Produce written confirmation following all meetings of significance with customers or staff* Ensure all deadlines are met both "for you" and "from you"* Ensure queries and query sheets are handled effectively and on time* Achieve min of 70% in depot audits, when below 70% resolve issues and implement actionplan for the future* Answer calls/e-mails immediately when possible or return calls/e-mails as soon as possiblePRODUCT AND PREMISES: Ensure quality, availability, consistency and security.* Safeguard all company assets, nothing leaves depot without correct paperwork,equipment, consumables, sales etc.* No account = no hire, No account = no sales* Complete weekly fleet checks* No cash transactions whatsoever* No loans of plant without written authorisation from Head of department* Ensure availability and utilisation of fleet both within the depot and through cooperationwith other GMs across the group* Ensure availability of the top 20 items* Target less than 5% of fleet under repair* Ensure all equipment for hire is 100% safe, maintained and complete further ensure allmaintenance records are kept up to date* Work within the Health and Safety Policy of the company to ensure safe working practices.* Ensure the depot is kept clean, tidy and secure* Ensure all vehicles are safe/presentable/legal and maintained properlyKey Performance Indicators* Profit against Budget* Revenue against Budget* Payback against budget.* Net profit %* Employee cost ratio* Compliance Audits* Staff turnover* Customer satisfaction* Adherence to all company procedures* Depot adherence to best practice.* Fleet under repair.* Query sheet quantity and speed of response.If you are interested in this position and have the required experience needed, then feel free to either click apply or email your CV
