37.5 hours per week – Permanent.We are seeking a highly motivated and professional individual, to work full time over 5-days, to assist a multi-skilled team of tradesmen to undertake planned and reactive maintenance as well as alterations and improvement works within properties on the Livewell Southwest estate.The role is primarily to undertake routine maintenance, repair and safety checks on hospital type equipment including sterilisers, bedpan washer/disinfectors, hospital beds, vacuum and suction equipment as well as other types of equipment as and when the need arises. The ideal person will be from a hospital background, with previous experience in the maintenance of hospital type equipment. Applications from persons without such experience will be considered provided that all other conditions are met. The successful applicant will be given the appropriate training.A minimum of a recognised trade apprenticeship in either a mechanical or electrical field is required, together with the appropriate qualifications from an approved examining body.You should have the ability to follow written maintenance instructions and to complete maintenance records in a legible manner and be familiar with a wide range of construction materials.You must be able to work alone, or as part of a maintenance team, so as to provide an effective service to client groups. The ability to undertake repairs and maintenance, with minimum disruption within a healthcare environment is essential, as are good customer care skills and an understanding that the needs of patients, staff and visitors are our priority.Good communication skills and a willingness to undertake training are required. You must be numerate and literate, with good written skills, and be willing to undertake further job training.You must be able to work overtime at short notice, if required, and have the ability to travel across Plymouth.Livewell Southwest values its staff and makes investment in their development a priority.
