Job Description

FACTORY MANAGEROur industry leading client based in Plymouth, are seeking an experienced Factory Manager to join the company.The main responsibility and objective of the role is to be responsible for the manufacture, production, facilities and associated back office support systems. Their intent should be to continue to develop a culture of engagement, empowerment and inclusion.Hours of work - 8.30 - 5pm Monday to Friday (37.5 per week) although flexibility is required as you may be required to work outside of the standard hours according to business needs.Main Responsibilities

  • Train, develop, and review reporting staff to ensure procedural, quality, safety, and environmental requirements are met
  • Ownership of the manufacturing site P&L to enable the control of costs, resources and spend.
  • Take a lead in the management of Health and Safety around the site. Drive a culture of safety first
  • Ensure the factory has the necessary manpower, competence, skill, knowledge, plant and tooling required in order to achieve production targets
  • Managing the local buying activity to ensure material is purchased cost effectively and available for production when required.
Skills Required
  • Engineering degree or equivalent
  • Lean manufacturing training and qualifications
  • Experience in manufacturing processes with a strong hands-on background within manufacturing/production/process engineering roles
  • Evidence of continuous improvement/lean initiatives and/or projects leading to improved efficiency, capacity, or cost savings (Six Sigma / Lean qualifications)
  • Be a team player, comfortable working in a small team and building strong professional relationships.
