Job Description

Manpower are working closely with a specialist Plymouth based company to help them to source an Engineering Technician to join their well established team. We are looking for candidates with an electrical bias for this particular position. Applications fromnewly qualified candidates are welcomed.Salary: £21k to £24k Dependent on experienceStarting Date: ImmediatePackage: Healthcare, Contributory Pension, Life Assurance, 25 days holiday pa, On-site parking.Friendly and modern, air-conditioned working environmentThe Role:

  • You will collaborate with the skilled engineering team as our engineering technician to help create Soft Start motor controllers.
  • You will be responsible for putting together and testing new prototype Printed Circuit Boards.
  • Fault finding at the component level will be a part of this process.
  • To assist with this, basic knowledge of how to read and interpret circuit diagrams would be useful, but not essential.
  • Experience of using instruments like soldering irons and oscilloscopes would be helpful, but again, not essential
  • Controlling and maintaining engineering papers using different software programmes is another component of the job.
  • There is a lot of use of Microsoft Word and Excel, so some prior experience would be helpful.
  • The option to integrate with other stages of the product development process, such as software development, electronic circuit design, and power electronics, is also available with training.
What youll need:
  • Minimum qualification of a BTEC level 3 or T Level in Engineering/Electronic Engineering or equivalent
  • An interest in electronics
  • The ability to conduct tasks in a controlled and methodical manner
