Job Description

Manpower are working with an established Manufacturing company who are looking for a Manual Cylindrical Grinder to join their busy teamThe Role - Fully skilled and competent Cylindrical and Surface GrinderThe Candidate -

  • Must have experience working in a precision grinding environment and knowledge of grinding wheel grades, types, etc.
  • Must be able to read and interpret engineering drawings and customer specifications to ensure that all components are within specified tolerances.
  • Strong background in engineering manufacturing is required, preferably with experience.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility with relation to overtime.
  • Knowledge of geometric tolerances and symbols.
  • Prior experience dealing with milling and turning.
  • Prior experience working to tight tolerances.
What youll be doing
  • Using hand-operated cylindrical and surface grinding equipment (Jones & Shipman - Brown & Sharpe).
  • Grinding components inside and externally with a magnetic chuck, a 3-jaw chuck, fixtures, and between centres
  • The application of inspection tools to guarantee adherence to all sizes, geometric tolerances, and surface finish requirements
