Job Description

Here at HM Land Registry we have an exciting opportunity for a Content Designer and Senior Content Designer to join our team based in Plymouth.Joining on a Flexible working, Job share, Full-time or Part-time you will receive a competitive salary of £33,175 - £37,248 per annum (HEO - £33,175 ; SEO - £37,248).Are you an experienced Content Designer Do you want to work on improving a range of services to help users complete their goal and the government to deliver more effective servicesIf so, then HM Land Registry are looking for Content and Senior Content Designers to join their growing team. Your work will have a big impact and will involve the creation of, or change to, a transaction, product or single piece of content that stretches across digital and offline channels.It is a very exciting time to join us as we continue on a major digital transformation programme. Our existing software systems form part of the critical national infrastructure, safeguarding land and property ownership valued at £7 trillion, enabling over £1 trillion worth of personal and commercial lending to be secured against property across England and Wales. You will join our award-winning Digital, Data and Technology Directorate which is the in-house IT division at the heart of the move to a digital, data-driven organisation with the ambition to provide our customers with cutting-edge digital services.Responsibilities of our Content Designer and Senior Content Designer include:You will take complex language and processes and make them simple to understand and ensure that appropriate content is shown to a user in the right place and in the best format. You will create user-focused content that makes it easy for users to interact with the HM Land Registry and ensure quality and consistency with GOV.UK content guidelines. You will write user stories, in conjunction with product owners, business analysts, user researchers and designers.Senior Content DesignerIn addition to the above you will onboard and manage content designers and develop and contribute to the HM Land Registry design community of practice and cross-government communities.What we’re looking for in our Content Designer and Senior Content Designer:You will have outstanding user focus and be able to identify and understand precise user needs based on evidence. You are able to propose content design approaches to meet user needs and have a core understanding of users, their habits and can engage in meaningful interactions and relationships with users both on and offline.You will have experience of communicating clearly and effectively with stakeholders on a regular basis to advocate and convince them to take a user centred approach through providing evidence. You will have experience of facilitating workshops with stakeholders and are able to think strategically.You have excellent writing and editing skills. Your proven ability to design content to meet user needs is easy to evidence and you understand and implement styles and standards and create and iterate for end-to-end services.Senior Content DesignerYou will have significant experience as a Content Designer and a Degree or further education in a related discipline/subject, including English language or literature, arts, humanities or social sciences, or both. You are a natural leader and will be able to train, coach and guide the team.
