Job Description

The Range originated in the markets of the Southwest where Chris Dawson started business in 1980 as an open air market trader. The Range has since grown with the company opening the first superstore at Sugar Mill Business Park in Plymouth in 1989. The Range concept is to offer budget to mid-price home, leisure and garden products, drawing together everything that could be needed for the stylish home at affordable prices.The Role:We wish to recruit a highly organised and proactive person, able to work against tight deadlines with outstanding prioritisation skills. The right candidate will be a problem solver with excellent attention to detail and ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties.The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring company compliance to relevant regulatory frameworks.Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring appropriate governance, policies and procedures.
  • Develop, implement and maintain a rigorous compliance strategy
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on all related compliance issues.
  • Proactive using a risk management framework and risk register procedures.
  • Leading detailed gap analysis addressing data security, retention and privacy risks.
  • Reviewing and maintaining the Data Protection Policy.
  • Acting as DPO dealing with all data privacy and compliance queries.
  • Executing compliance monitoring and auditing activities.
  • Reviewing and impacting assess policies and procedures in relation to GDPR
  • Track and report all key metrics related to various compliance related matters
  • Accurately completes and submits status reports in a timely manner
  • Experience Requirement:
  • A minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience
  • Demonstrate solid knowledge of GDPR and national data protection laws
  • A logical thinker with a curious, analytical mind
  • Proven track record of formulating and implementing compliance strategies and practices
  • A natural communicator with the ability to build strong working relationships
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and tight deadlines A minimum of 1 year’s relevant experience.
  • High level of numeracy and literacy.
  • Flexible approach to work according to the needs of the service / business.
