Up to 18.5 hours per week – permanent.‘Agenda for Change’ Band 7 - 8a: £38,890 - £51,668 pa, pro-rata.We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic clinical or forensic psychologist to work alongside an established principal clinical psychologist providing psychological input into both in-patient and community based acute mental health services. The post is based on the Glenbourne Unit, a 38 bedded acute mental health hospital, consisting of two single sex wards. It is rated as ‘outstanding’ by the CQC and has embraced quality improvement initiatives. One session a week will also be used to provide psychological input to the Home Treatment Team, who are based at Mount Gould Hospital and support people with acute mental health difficulties to remain in the community and prevent hospital admission. Applications are welcomed for any proportion of this role.In this post, in addition to delivering psychological interventions to service users and their families, you will support the delivery of psychologically informed care and contribute to the development and maintenance of quality across the service. This is likely to include providing consultation, advice and training to the multidisciplinary team, facilitating reflective practice, providing debrief and contributing to service development activities. You will need to be able to apply your therapeutic skills and knowledge flexibly to meet the individual needs of service users and support clinical teams. You will also need to be comfortable working responsively in an environment that can be challenging and fast-paced.The post sits within the wider Specialist Adult Mental Health Psychology Team, which has a culture of supporting creative approaches to service delivery, and regular opportunities for supervision, peer support and informal professional development are available within the team.This post would be an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop or consolidate skills in consultancy and working with systems and gain experience of clinical leadership and working at an increased level of responsibility.
