BuyerDevonport, PlymouthSF29279£31,470 - £35,550We are currently seeking experienced candidates looking for an exciting opportunity to undertake a Buyer role within the Naval Nuclear Supply Chain team for the Engineering Services business unit.At the highest level it is to support the delivery of the Annual plan with major focus on BN05 (Vanguard) facilities related safety and design elements. It breaks down into supporting the sourcing, contract management and supplier management of contingent labour and packages of professional services.As a Buyer you will commercially represent the company and provide procurement / commercial input into and sign off (Procurement) statements of requirement prior to release to suppliers, complete requirements (review and recommend preferred bidders) and co-ordinate order placement as well as ongoing contract management on larger packages, consistent with the specified technical, quality assurance and delivery requirements which are critical to the success of this business.The Marine and Technology (M&T) Division has over 9,000 highly skilled people contributing extensive knowledge and experience. Our collaborative approach to working with customers and suppliers aims to fully meet and exceed our customers needs and expectations. Working side by side with our customers on concept design, project management, testing, assembly, maintenance and asset management, through to decommissioning, we aim to ensure their ultimate objectives and commitments are always achieved.What do I need to do the roleWe like you to have experience in all, or some, of the following areas:

  • Experience in use of MPS and MRP systems
  • Experience in a procurement and supply chain environment
  • Good planning and organisational skills
  • Good communication, interpersonal and persuasion skills
  • MCIPS qualified, or currently studying is desirable
