Job Description

Pertemps have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Buyer to jointheir ever-expanding retail client based in their busy Head Office in Plymouth.As a result of our clients expansion plans and continued ongoing success, they are seeking a dynamic Buyerto manage their customer offer. You will work closely with the Head of Buying to enhance the companies offering. Developing relationships with new andexisting Suppliers whilst ensuring maximum value and efficiency for the business. ResponsibilitiesAs the Buyer, you will -

  • Have primary accountability for maximisingsales, margin & profitability in this fast moving and diverse category
  • Lead a team building long term supplier relationships to deliver a successful product offer
  • Have ultimate responsibility for the implementation of the product strategy and ensuring that the business meets with customer needs
  • Monitor & review competitor information to ensure your product offering stays relevant in a changing market
  • Play a lead role in range reviews, supplier negotiations, promotions & pricing
  • You will work with your cross-functional team to ensure we deliver great product availability and quality
To be considered for the position, the successful candidate will need to have experience of buying, ideally withFMCG experience. You will have an excellent understanding of the consumer and of the marketplace and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast pacedenvironment. You will also need to have theability build relationships and influence both internal and external stakeholders.This is a permanent position, which the competitive salary will be discussed on application.Working hours - Monday - Friday, 8:45am - 5:30pm, based in Derriford, Plymouth.For more information, please contact Chelsea Walker in the Pertemps Plymouth office.
