Job Description

Assistant Management AccountantPlymouth£26-£31,000 DOEOur client who is a established south west company, is looking to recruit an assistant management accountant to join their management accounting team in Plymouth. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has recently passed their AAT and is lookingto progress, or a more established part ACCA/CIMA accountant looking to continue their studies. You will be working as part of a management accounting team, so will have the opportunity to develop your skills whilst managing your own workload.The role involves…

  • Assisting in the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Communicating with budget holders ensuring that the monthly management accounts are understood to none financial managers
  • Ensuring the bank accounts are reconciled weekly
  • Producing schedules, reconciliations and reports required for monthly and statutory audit purposes.
  • Ensuring that all nominal accounts are reconciled regularly
  • Ensuring that all cash and bank accounts are balanced and controlled on a daily basis.
  • Maintaining asset registers and other fixed assets scheduling monthly depreciation
  • Assisting in compiling annual budgets
  • Analyse of the monthly accounts in order to highlight areas to improve profitability.
Person specification:
  • Minimum requirement of AAT Technician Level / Level 4. If you already have experience in management accounting this would be an advantage.
  • Working towards your CIMA or ACCA qualification is desirable, and study support can be provided
  • Working hours 9.00 - 17.30 Mon to Fri (37.5 hours per week).
  • 1 Day per week home working
