Job Description

Butler Rose are delighted to be working with a Plymouth based Manufacturing business who have a current requirement or an Asset Care, Site Services and Facilities Manager on a permanent basis. The role is wide ranging in scope and will contribute to theeffective running of the manufacturing site by ensuring plant and machinery are operating at optimum capability.Responsibilities & Activities: Asset Care

  • Maintain and continue to develop a focused Planned Preventative Maintenance program and drive the roll out of Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) to optimise plant capacity, reduce unplanned downtime, maximise productivity and help increase productionthroughout.
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members and other operational departments through effective communication, collaborative style, coaching and recognition.
  • Develop and maintain KPIs for the maintenance department, undertake management reviews and team problem solving to track, analyse and continuously improve capacity utilisation (Overall Equipment Effectiveness), reduce operational costs, enhance MTTF/MTTR,reduce lost hrs, ensure PM schedule compliance, improve, and maintain plant equipment service schedules, maintain effective cost/budget control, improve safety and reduce component stock-outs.
  • Maintain and continue to develop the Maintenance Management system to monitor and analyse all maintenance data. Use this information to support the production management in monitoring machine performance, front line asset care, collate downtime/cell costdata, highlight and report business risks (condition monitoring), capital expenditure justification, research for new equipment and effective recording of asset information/catalogues.
  • Make recommendations on new equipment that is available in the marketplace and how it can be best applied. Organise/support the development of capital investment plans and justification for new machine purchases, based on operational requirements, lifecycle and risk.
  • Develop and sustain an established network base with equipment vendors and maintenance contractors.
  • Working with purchasing, monitor the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies and equipment, initiate reordering when necessary.
  • Responsible for effective planning and implementation of machine moves in line with HSE policy, quality procedures and production demands.
  • Responsible for all HSE issues within team and work area, ensure the adherence to standard work and 5s disciplines.
  • Cover activities of others in department as and when required.
  • Accountable for team hiring, appraisals, team competency, and training need analysis, performance management and disciplinary activities.
Responsibilities & Activities: Site services and Facilities
  • Directing, coordinating and planning essential central services such as, and not limited to, security, site maintenance, lifting equipment inspection, site contract cleaners, coolant and oil management, contractor management, environmental standards andcompliance, waste disposal and recycling.
  • Ensuring the building and whole site is in good condition and meets health and safety requirements and to ensure that facilities comply with legislation.
  • Project management, supervising and coordinating work of contractors.
  • Ensure energy saving capital investments are identified and delivered to cost.
  • Update production areas in line with factory vision and 5s ethos (floor, walls etc)
  • Manage and develop good practice fabrication work, be point of contact for subcontract work etc
  • Calculating and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money.
  • Planning for future development in line with strategic business objectives.
  • Managing and leading change to ensure minimum disruption to core activities.
  • Checking that agreed work by staff or contractors has been completed satisfactorily and following up on any deficiencies.
  • Coordinating and leading one or more teams to cover various areas of responsibility.
  • Using performance management techniques to monitor and demonstrate achievement of agreed service levels and to lead on improvement.
  • Responding appropriately to emergencies or urgent issues as they arise and support in a leading capacity.

  • Strong knowledge of Health & Safety working practices (COSHH, RIDDOR, Risk Assessments, Fire Procedure and compliance)
