Job Description

We are looking for inspiring Higher Level Teaching Assistants who will play a key role delivering high quality teaching and learning throughout schools in Plymouth.The Higher Level Teaching Assistants will be committed to providing a creative and invigorating learning environment for all children.As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) you will work collaboratively with the Teacher to deliver high quality lessons and interventions which form part of the school curriculum. You will be driven to support teachers to help raise attainment standardsand encouraging children to reach their full potential.We are looking for Higher Level Teaching Assistants who:

  • Have experience of working within a primary school or early years setting
  • Have an understanding of effective teaching methods and able to plan, organise and support teaching and learning activities
  • Can build relationships with and nurture pupils to enable positive educational outcomes
  • Experience implementing positive behaviour strategies
  • GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English grade C/4 or above
  • Excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to working
  • NVQ2/3 or equivalent or working towards the qualification is desirable
