Job Description

For the candidate who shares a passion and drive to makea difference, this is an exciting, newly created role providing the opportunity to join a small, highly functional UK based business with a global footprint.Reporting directly to the Managing Director the Finance Manager, who will become an important member of the European Management Team, will enjoy a hands-on, senior, standalone finance role as part of a small UK based team with headquarters in the US. As such,the successful candidate will work closely with overseas colleagues to ensure statutory and regulatory accounting and fiscal conformity. This broad ranging role will blend both strategy and the delivery of typical finance related responsibilities including financial planning, budget control, forecasting, invoicing, cash management and debt management. In addition, the role will also includemanaging, reporting and coordinating the HR function to meet national requirements of the Europe team. Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor all company expenditure including management of company accounting systems ensuring all postings are made accurately.
  • Ensure controls, processes and procedures are in place in respect to financial reporting, capital expenditure, banking, payroll, pensions, insurances, invoicing, debt management and personnel expense reporting.
  • Support MD in preparation of annual budgets & country business plans.
  • Prepare the closing of the purchase ledger at month end.
  • Produce reports for fortnightly payment for submission to MD.
  • Processing of staff expenses.
  • Prepare payroll to submit to external suppliers in UK, Germany, France, and Turkey.
  • Produce month end journals and post onto financial system.
  • Reconciliation off all balance sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
  • Generate and communicate management & monthly sales reports.
  • Produce and manage cash-flow forecasts.
  • Ensure all VAT, national insurance and custom duties etc are paid in full and on time.
  • Collaborating with the US Finance team as necessary
  • Managing HR activities - maintenance of employee contracts/salaries/bonus/pensions etc in conjunction HR USA.
Skills & Experience
  • Substantial experience in a broad ranging finance related role.
  • Strong analytical skills with good accounting knowledge.
  • Relevant accountancy accreditation, e.g. AAT.
  • Good understanding of computer and accounting systems.
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to work well with others to achieve objectives.
  • Self-starting, analytical, detailed and organised individual with a considerable degree of good judgment, excellent written and oral communication, self-confidence and the ability to conduct activities without supervision.
  • The ability to effectively communicate problems and solutions.
  • Able to multi-task.
