Job Description

Techunite Ltd are recruiting on behalf of a small but exciting and expanding Surrey/Hampshire based IT organisation who are looking for a 2nd line support engineer to join the team.If you are a customer focused support engineer and are looking for a new challenge where you will have the opportunity to be exposed to a variety of projects then look no further.You will be a strong communicator and have a passion for solving issues for customers and tackling the more complex problems that come with project and implementations. You will have the opportunity to grow in your role and future opportunities. You will be taking a variety of support calls, aiming to fix most technical issues remotely or over the phone with first call resolution where necessary, and if this is not possible you will take full ownership of the issues until they are resolved.Key experience:

  • Managed service provider experience ideally
  • Strong knowledge of Networking for Small Businesses
  • Configuring networks with VLAN’s, Switches, Access points, and firewalls
  • Migrations to office365, sharepoint and familiar with using scripts to automate simple tasks
  • Windows operating systems, Active Directory, Remote control support tools, PC/Laptop printer hardware plus knowledge of Build Technology/Imaging tools
  • Using a computerised helpdesk/service desk system e.g. BMC or PSA Autotask
  • Working knowledge of ITIL processes
  • Technical Skills:
  • Network Administration (comptia or equivalent)
  • Competent in troubleshooting, configuring and managing common network wireless/wired devices. Working knowledge of DNS, OSI Model, DHCP Scopes, VLAN Configuration, and VOIP
  • Windows server 2019 - Active directory, setting up DC’s, migrating between older versions
  • Office 365/Azure - Administration experience
  • MS Exchange
  • Spam mail firewall
  • Data Backup
  • Whilst the role involves home working given the current circumstances, our client has a virtual office in Guildford. They are now looking to secure an office around the Hampshire area and there would be an option for a mix of flexi home/office working.2nd line support / MSP / Managed services / Network administration / troubleshooting / Microsoft Server 2019 / Office365 / ITIL processes / Service Desk Required skills
