Validation Engineer

MTrec’s new career opportunityOur clients are specialist in their market sector, they are looking to recruit a Validation Engineer on a permanent basis.The Job you’ll do

• As a member of the R&D team, you will be part of a team responsible for validating, evaluating and improving on the product design in line with the defined technical requirements. This will also extend to proof-of concept validation.
• The principal products pertain to functional applications of exhaust throttle, intake throttle and exhaust gas recirculation products and their sub-systems for the global On/Off highway automotive market.
• Create test specifications to evaluate and improve the product against technical requirements.
• Instrumentation of products to measure engineering parameters for product validation such as displacement, temperature, pressure, torque, strain etc.
• Create and Own DVP for assessing product validation for the various developments carried out from concept to pre-production sign off stage. This includes sample planning for each phase of design development.
• Carrying out test preparation, assigning test cycles and checks prior to and during throughout assigned product validation.
• Evaluate and present the results as well as providing input on improvements and solutions.
• Create technical validation reports for the tasks carried out and ability to present / share as required.
• Engage with internal/external stakeholders to discuss results and improvement plans for the product specifications.
• Design, set up and operation of test apparatus, covering mechanical, electro-mechanical and control related aspects.
• Ability to conduct teardown analysis on components systematically to evaluate performance attributes of the design post-validation and investigate failure modes.
• Problem solving and generation of ideas to improve test and validation methodologies.
• Ability to validate at sub-system level for components that constitute the overall product (and generate ideas for sub-system tests).
• Contributes to the collection of data and quality of the test results by providing informed feedback regarding the functionality of the tested system.
• Data management and trend plotting for regular engineering parameters.

About You

• Proficient skills related to mechanical / electrical and instrumentation disciplines.
• Knowledge of data logging and signal processing basics will be highly preferred.
• Knowledge of electromechanical system control would be advantageous, working with CAN bus (Controller Area Network) based products is desirable.
• Knowledge of product validation and how it applies to engineering components is a must.
• Proven experience in testing and fault finding.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft office suite including excel, word, and PowerPoint.
• Specific experience in instrumentation is desirable.
• Suitable qualifications and or relevant experience in a suitable engineering field.
• Time management and task management.
• Strong communication skills both written and verbal, able to work individually or in a team and able to communicate at all levels confidently.
