Job Description

We are working in partnership with a renowned and respected automotive manufacturer RMS are recruiting for a Health, Safety and Environmental Coordinator to join the company.This is a permanent position and the working hours will be Mon to Thu 0800 - 16:30, Fri 0800 - 15:30.Main purpose of job:

  • Ensuring the business operates in compliance with applicable HSE Legislation
  • Fulfilling the role of single point of contact for the reporting of HSE issues
  • Effectively communicating internal and Group HSE information and training encouraging involvement and employee engagement.
  • Management of hazards and the facilitation of effective control measures to reduce risks to employees.
  • Providing guidance on the purchase of PPE and other safety equipment.
  • Organising and delivering safety training, toolbox talks and Group requirements.
  • Performing ISO system audits to a schedule as required.
  • Ensure all minimum legislative requirements are in place to demonstrate
  • Ensuring stringent control of external contractors, reviewing and approving RAMS and ensuring relevant competencies are evident.
  • Delivering inductions and training for employees and contractors.
  • Performing periodic checks as required, including fire safety systems, legionella testing/sampling and data capture of utility usages.
  • Oversight of all waste management activities, including storage, labelling, and the arrangement of collections, ensuring documentation is completed and stored appropriately.
  • Assist in administering and maintaining compliance programs and Group requests as required.
  • Provide monthly statistical information to parent Group, using multiple electronic reporting media.
  • Develop, implement and monitor HSE Key performance indicators
  • Oversee Behaviour Based / Observation Safety Programs, communicating findings to employees and implementing appropriate corrective actions
To succeed as the HSE Coordinator you will need:
  • Ability to work both as part of a team and autonomously
  • Good planning and organisational skills, the ability to multi-task and work on multiple complex activities at once.
  • Exceptional people skills, personable and approachable with the confidence to provide concise information and guidance to employees.
  • A can-do, problem solving attitude and ability to work in fast paced, high-pressure environment.
Skills and Qualification Requirements:
  • NEBOSH National General Certificate or IOSH equivalent
  • IEMA Certificate in Environmental Management
  • ISO 14001/ISO 45001 Internal Auditor
  • Computer literate in MS Office
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to work autonomously
  • Flexible approach to working hours.
Experience:
  • Up to date knowledge of relevant HSE legislation and guidance
  • Working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Experience of working in a fast paced manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Ability to organise and prioritise own work with good attention to detail
  • Demonstrable experience of working in a similar role
  • Experience of performing Site Audits, Inspections and Risk Assessments
  • Creating, developing and maintaining management system procedures.
