Job Description

Major Recruitment are recruiting for a Electrical Maintenance Technician for a client based in Peterlee.Hours Mon - Fri6-2pm, 2-10pm - 40hrs /week2 x paid 30 min breakOT Sat @ 1.5 & Sunday @ double timeKey Responsibilities

  • To maintain all machinery owned or hired by the company
  • To maintain preventative maintenance programme
  • Ensure breakdowns are dealt with as soon as possible to reduce downtime.
  • Facilitate installing new and existing machinery.
  • General maintenance of electrical equipment and systems
  • Excellent fault finding and problem-solving skills are essential
  • Take part in performance improvement programmes
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with staff at all levels
  • To comply with legal requirements and to work within Company health and safety guidelines
  • To assist and train other members of staff if / when required
  • Maintain high level of general housekeeping
  • Machine tool and fitting experience desirable
  • Electrical aspect is the most important skill required
  • Programming inverters
Will be looking after various machines such as -
  • 3 x Cryogenic freezing tunnels
  • Slicing and dicing machines
  • Heated bag sealing machines
  • Conveyors
Must have;
  • Excellent fault finding skills to be able to fix problems quickly
  • Experience with mechanical and electrical equipment -
  • 17th or 18th Edition would be good but not a necessity as knowledge is the most important criteria over qualification
