Job Description

Trainee WelderJob RoleOur growing client based in Peterborough are looking for trainee welders to join their knowledgeable team. This is an ongoing position and offers a great opportunity to work with a leading engineering company and learn a new trade.Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the team and learn how to tig weld to a high standard
  • You will be given further training in all aspects of Tig welding and fabricating to a very high standard, manufacturing components used to produce stainless steel processing equipment.
  • Operating Press Brakes, Guillotines, and various engineering machinery
  • Sheet metal prep such as polishing, fettling, de-burring of sheet meal
  • Keep the shop floor tidy
  • Wear correct safety clothing and protective equipment
Person Specification
  • Previous experience with hand tools and basic welding useful, but a keen interest in learning and willingness to work hard and go the extra mile would be an advantage.
  • Engineering shop floor experience from a few weeks to a few years
  • Have the desire to work with sheet metal and engineering machinery, whilst being taught to work on new machines and welding equipment
  • Ideal opportunity for someone looking for a career change, to more experienced sheet metal workers looking to upskill into fabrication and TIG welding
  • Ability to work as a team member
  • Full driving license
Hours of Work and Pay
  • 40 Hours per week (Days)
  • Overtime available
  • Up to £14 per hour DOE
