A leading multi model logistics business is looking for a Trainee Transport Planner to join their Peterborough depot. As a Trainee Transport Planner you will assist in planning routes; managing drivers and ensuring the fleet are maintained. Our client isopen to experience and looking to train someone with a good attitude; willingness to learn and some experience in an admin or customer service based role.As a Trainee Transport Planner you will assist with the day to day running of vehicles to ensure prompt and on time deliveries to customers. You will be required to update transport systems to track vehicle, trailer and job status to meet delivery timings.You will ensure vehicles and trailers are serviced and MOTd before being used and assist drivers in managing their hours and break requirements to be compliant at all times. You will also be required to assist drivers and customers with queries and any issuesthat arise during a route.Ideally the person will be confident; strong communicator and able to work under pressure. The right person will be able to work on Microsoft Outlook; Excel and Word confidently as well as being able to learn bespoke systems to manage transport routes and reporting.The role will be based in their Peterborough depot and the working hours will be Monday - Friday; flexibility will be required but will always be based on day shifts. Start times between 7am-9am; the shifts will be 10 hours with a one hour unpaid lunch equatingto a 45 hour working week. Flexibility will be required in regard to shift pattern and future shift pattern. On offer is a salary of £20,000 - £24,000 per annum. The role includes a considerable salary increase following 12 months successful training and passing probation.
