We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Strategic Modelling Manager to join the business on a 12 month fixed term contract basis.As a core member of the Asset Intelligence Leadership Team reporting to the Head of Asset Intelligence, you will be part of a team that is at the forefront of digital transformation with a particular focus on Asset Modelling.The Modelling Strategy Manage is the owner for all hydraulic & fluid modelling across our business within the operational, investment, and delivery teams, providing expertise in network modelling, surge analysis, odour dispersion, biological process, andcomputational fluid dynamics.The role will manage a modelling Centre of Excellence (CoE) to drive our business forward, will be instrumental in achieving our challenging strategic business goals, and will be the point of contact for all our modelling systems.Working with a well-established modelling team, the role will be responsible for setting the in AMP strategy and direction of modelling, seeking opportunities to drive value from our existing models and assets, as well as exploring and exploiting potentialopportunities to drive efficiency and deliver upon our business commitments.The role will enable a culture of collaboration and integration, providing exceptional service to our customers, stakeholders and the wider AW business.The role will lead a large team of subject matter experts, from trainees to senior modellers and team leaders. Building upon the existing team capability and expertise, the role will drive technical, behavioural excellence, and skills resilience to ensurewe are fit for the future, in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous environment.Key Accountabilities:

  • Accountable for reviewing and evolving Anglian Waters in AMP modelling and simulation strategy, ensuring a continued contribution to the delivery of the wider AW strategy, outcomes, ODIs and goals and alignment (and challenge) of other business strategies.
  • Accountable for the technical assurance and standards of all hydraulic and fluid modelling and simulation across the business, providing delivery teams with confidence in base modelling and outputs.
  • Accountable for delivering specific projects modelling strategy, as well as delivering the technical modelling for teams throughout AW in a collaborative & integrated way
  • Accountable for providing exemplarily leadership & management for a team of technical experts.

What does it take to be successful
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience circa
  • Experience in leadership and team management
  • Experience in modelling in Water/Wastewater Recycling environment
  • Technical understanding of modelling/planning tools and capabilities
  • Good knowledge of business context
  • Recognised for modelling within the UK water industry
  • Contract management
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills
  • Experience of managing multiple stakeholder groups - internal & external to the organisation
  • Ability to lead and manage teams located over a wide geographical area
  • Can inspire, encourage and support others
