An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading utilities company as a Stores Operative based in Peterborough, PE1 5TP. This a 42 hour per week, full-time temporary ongoing contract paying between £10.50 to £12.00 per hour dependant on experience.The working hours are between 7am to 16.30pm Monday to Friday. Purpose of the roleWorking as part of a logistics team and assisting the Site Controller, youll be responsible for picking, receiving and managing materials within the supply chain. The Stores Operative will maintain an effective and compliant operation across all responsibleactivities and ensure adherence to all legal, operational and SHE procedures.AccountabilitiesIssue and receipt of materials, plant, tools, equipment, and road traffic signs and barriers, via a warehouse management systemDaily stock count of materialsFirst point of contact for customer queries and requestsLoading and unloading delivery vehicleControl of process for non- stock & PPE itemsMHE Operator of FLT / Telehandler or other such equipmentEnsure housekeeping and 5s is carried out at storesAssist and support the Site Controller where necessary, with a view to tactical absence coverWorking to site & contract specific SHESQ policies and proceduresFirst point of contact for customers queries and requestWeekly reporting non-compliance / site checks to line managementSite waste managementAbout youWere looking for candidates who possess the following skills, knowledge and qualifications,Must have good communicative skills both verbally and in written form, showing a good level of numeracy and verbal reasoning.You will be interacting with internal operational customers and need to be extremely professionalDrive MHE in a safe and efficient mannerKnowledge of inventory stock managementExperience of working in a similar roleWork on own initiative, proactive approachKeeping the stores / yard to a high standard of cleanliness and tidyHold current full driving licenceHold FLT / Telehandler licenceA knowledge of good practice relating to Health and Safety RegulationsPre-shift checks & fault reporting of MHEHazard reportingComputer literate
