Job Description

The Role & Key Responsibilities Job Title: SolutionsArchitectLocation: Peterborough, Hybrid role with the need to be in the office 4 - 6 times per monthThis diverse role as a Solutions Architect will provide exposure to a wide ranging group of customers and projects. You will be responsible for the creation of solution designs in response to project requests from the wider companys internal varied customergroup, in support of their operations and applications. The role is seen as a Subject Matter Expert for specific technologies across the environment so a deep and thorough understanding of infrastructure technologies and how they interact is a necessity. As part of this role you will engage and manage multiple stakeholders, 3rd parties and specialist teams. We are looking for a confident communicator, able to present solutions to the wider business. This role will provide the opportunity to work with a diverserange of technologydealing with projects that cover infrastructure, cloud, security and platforms design with budgets ranging from £50k to £1m. What youll be doing:

  • Provide new solution designs inc recommendations and costs for new system requirements submitted by the business to agreed performance indicators.
  • Provide solutions consultancy to the Business Units before projects are requested and during project delivery as required
  • Technical analysis of designs submitted by Business Units resulting in recommendations and costs for new system requirements to agreed KPIs.
  • Provide technical support to the SSC Project Services and SSC Operations Teams as required
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the ABF SSC Reference Architecture in conjunction with the Technical Architects.
What youll bring:
  • Ability to produce articulate and accurate proposals including design, project tracker and costs
  • Experience in developing infrastructure solutions
  • Knowledge and experience in networking fundamentals including LANWAN; including wireless and VPN technologies.
  • Knowledge andexperience of server operating systems including Windows Server 2008, 2012 and 2019
  • Knowledge and experience of infrastructure applications (Active Directory, Exchange, VMware etc.)
  • Knowledge and experience of storage fundamentals including Storage Area Networks (SAN)
  • Able to conduct research into technical products and services as required and to stay current with developments.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship building skills with both internal colleagues, external customers and 3rd parties
