Job Description

Shipping CoordinatorDangerous GoodsPeterborough £35,000 - £45,000 (flexible depending on experience) MondayFriday, 09:0017:00Im currently recruiting for an experienced sipping coordinator to join a leading pyrotechnic & special effects manufacturer in Peterborough. They are seeking someone to support the current Operations Manager in the safe and efficient shipment of goods globally.Whats on Offer;

The Candidate;
  • Previous Export experience is essential
  • Must be IATA and DGSA qualified
  • Experience air and ocean exports is highly desirable
  • Up to date knowledge of Export regulations
  • Have dealt with end-end logistical processes
  • Experience of working within a freight forwarding company
  • Can do attitude taking responsibility
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage workloads
  • Ability to clearly communicate
  • Confident in decision making and negotiating
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast paced environment
  • Working knowledge of packing and despatching to exactingly high standards.
  • Ability to plan effectively based on time frames required to import and export goods.
Duties and Responsibilities;
  • Ensure all shipping documentation is accurately produced in line with government and export legal requirements
  • Assist the Operations manager in production planning on a daily and longer term (forecasting) level to ensure the highest level of customer service by prioritising orders against expected delivery lead times.
  • Work closely with the Operations Controller and other members of the site Operations/Safety and quality functions in the safe completion of orders on time in full (OTIF)
  • Assist in customer order processing from the Peterborough site.
  • To ensure all activities carried out in your areas of responsibility are done in a safe manner that will not impact on your own or others safety.
  • To arrange shipping worldwide of pyrotechnic materials by Air/Sea and Land to IATA and DGSA standards and controlling incoming materials.
