Looking for a new role where you can make a difference every dayWere an agency recruiting on behalf of another organisation looking for an experienced, compassionate and resilient Senior Support Worker to help support us in our innovative new SPECIALIST Residential unit in Peterborough with young people aged 16+ in semi-independent living.Full and part-time permanent roles are also available.Salary: £13 - 15 per hour, depending on current qualifications and experiencePay has scope for advancement, subject to any training completed in post. Alliance supports new and longstanding providers to register with Ofsted or CQC while helping to improve provisions with poor inspection scores.We offer training to all levels of staff in organisations to be fully adherent to policies and procedures, as well as deal with conflict and manage complex cases.Job RoleAEDA is now recruiting Senior Support Workers to provide Social Work and Care Management services to support young people aged 16+ in semi-independent living. The position involves assessing referrals and designing plans for action and support and assistingthe Service Manager with safeguarding investigations. Support the Young People on a day-to-day basis and help them acquire independent living skills. Staff must offer a range of support, including informal counselling, emotional support, advice, assistancewith education and training, practical skills training, developing complementary networks and helping the service user address their cultural identity.Role and Responsibilities*

  • To work with service users where appropriate, in the assessment of individual needs and the provision of appropriate social care needs, care management service and local resources available.
  • To act as the primary point of contact for care arrangements in respect of designated service users with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Working following agreed joint policies and procedures.
  • To identify the aims and objectives of proposed interventions/placement needs and educational plans.
  • To produce care plans and ensure their effective implementation.
  • To be involved in the direct management of placement/care packages, providing services, guidance and advice within an agreed timeframe for the delivery of care.
  • To ensure that the quality of service provided meets agreed quality standards.
  • To maintain effective contacts with all providers of care and other people responsible for relevant community resources and to undertake joint work with other Social Workers/other professionals in the completion of tasks, initiating, where necessary, multi-disciplinarymeetings for the coordination of complex care arrangements.
  • To assist and support in the induction of newly appointed care/support workers.
  • To record all work undertaken.
  • To prepare and produce reports/assessments for each service user as required
  • To accept responsibility, with the Service Manager, for reviewing work on caseload at regular intervals.

  • Children and Young People N.V.Q., Level 4 or above
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate
Preferred Skills and experience
  • 2+ years of experience working in the Care Sector
  • Knowledge of the 5 Accomplishments
  • Knowledge and understanding of the needs of young people from different backgrounds, those with learning disabilities, mental health, and challenging needs
  • Awareness and understanding of the issues relating to sexuality, sexual abuse, CCE, CSE and child protection.
  • Prevention & Management of Violence & Aggression Training
  • Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS) Training
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-Motivation
  • Willingness to be adaptable
  • Ability to be imaginative
  • Ability to establish a good relationship with people
  • Team player
  • Reliability and commitment
  • Prepared to work evenings and weekends
