Some of our flagship work in recent years include; Palace of Westminster, Southbank Place, Arctic Science centres, The Bank of England, BBC Broadcasting house, The Titanic building in Belfast and the St Pancras Chambers Hotel in London to name but a few.About Our Team: Our Cost Management team in the East of England are delivering all aspects of consultancy services. This covers the whole project lifecycle from initial inception, through the design and procurement process and onto the site delivery and commissioning phase.We have secured places on several frameworks alongside a core of regular repeat clients. We are looking to expand our team to deliver an exciting mix of projects across a range of sectors including Education, Defence, Science, Commercial, Residential, Care,Industrial and Healthcare developments. Job Responsibilities: As a Senior Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager, you will deliver in all aspects of the developments from project inception to completion. You will work with an Associate or Director plus support from project surveyors, Graduates and Assistants to successfullymanage and deliver several projects, varying in complexity. Our projects typically range in value from £5m - £100m, with some over £250m. You will drive performance standards through expert communication and effective use of the performance management process.Maintain and develop good relationships with clients, take every opportunity to uphold and increase the profile of the firm as a provider of professional, premium quality services to the construction industry. The role will require a passion for first-classservice delivery, implementing best practices and continuous improvement. You will also be responsible for managing and mentoring junior staff to deliver our Cost Management/ Services Cost Manager/ Employers Agent service efficiently and effectively. Coreresponsibilities include: Ensure projects are managed and completed efficiently, on time and to the clients satisfaction. Be a key interface, and develop strong relationships, with clients. Provide full Cost Management/ Services Cost Manager/ Employers Agent duties to AECOM clients. Including feasibility estimates, cost planning, procurement advice, value and risk management, post-contract management. Provide effective support and mentoring to Cost Managers, Graduates and Apprentices.Minimum Requirements Understanding a variety of project types/sizes/sectors. Understanding of JCT and NEC standard forms of contract Proven ability to advise clients and design teams on cost, value and risk, not just cost in isolation. Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work under own initiative where appropriate working closely with the Management Team in the delivery of some of our highest-profile projects. Clear work history and proof of professional development and learning Excellent communication and organisational skills; Highly motivated and with excellent industry network; Ability to manage multiple projects for a variety of public and private sector clients Prior line-management experiencePreferred Qualifications Degree QualifiedBSc or MScin Quantity Surveying / Cost Management Professionally Qualifiedideally Chartered Quantity Surveying Status with the RICS, CIOB or other equivalent institution.Your benefits will include: Helping our employees achieve a healthy work-life balance is important to us.
