Job Description

Senior Medical Engineer

  • Permanent opportunity
  • Peterborough
  • £30,000 - £35,000 (depending on experience)
Responsibilities:
  • To ensure equipment is maintained correctly, ensuring patient safety
  • To ensure equipment is repaired correctly, on time, first time
  • Carry out repairs and planned preventative maintenance on equipment as required, in accordance with local policies and OEM recommendations
  • Carry out Acceptance Testing of new equipment and loan equipment
  • Safety test equipment
  • Condemn and de-commission equipment
  • Allocation and prioritisation of reactive and planned maintenance to other Althea engineers
  • Provide technical supervision of other Althea engineers work, ensuring quality and patient safety
  • Assist with the development and implementation of service checklists, procedures, and policies
  • Prioritise multiple demands, as required
  • Ensure contractual Key Performance Indicators are met
  • Liaise with and assist OEMs
Requirements:
  • HNC/D Electronics or equivalent
  • Membership of VRCT
  • Customer, Safety, and quality focus
  • Good oral and written communication
  • Knowledge and understanding of MHRA Managing Medical Devices Jan 2021
  • Advanced electronic skills including test & measurement
  • Able to fault find under pressure, with minimal supervision, whilst minimising risk to patients, the Trust or company
  • An understanding of Risk Management generally, and the impact on medical device support
