Job Description

Senior ICT TechnicianWe are seeking an experienced ICT Technician to join our dynamic team. As a vital contributor to our organization, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of IT systems and services, adhering to best practices and maintaining a highlevel of service delivery. This role involves working closely with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to uphold IT standards and contribute to the achievement of organizational objectives.Key Responsibilities:

  • Adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
  • Ensuring work is executed in compliance with relevant legislation and procedures, including embedding GDPR principles.
  • Flexibility in accommodating business needs, potentially requiring varied work hours.
  • Participation in performance management and training initiatives.
  • Awareness of safeguarding principles, with a responsibility to report any concerns in alignment with organizational policies.
  • Completion of an enhanced disclosure and barring check (DBS) as a requirement for the role.
Key Duties:
  • Taking autonomous actions, drawing upon your experience and expertise to make informed decisions aligned with the roles responsibilities.
  • Providing guidance, support, and constructive challenges to team members.
  • Offering professional insights and advice to colleagues and stakeholders within the organization.
  • Efficiently handling work instructions from senior management, ensuring their timely execution.
  • Initiating, overseeing, and leading multiple concurrent work streams.
  • Developing well-structured plans to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
  • Assisting academy staff and stakeholders in optimizing their IT usage.
  • Applying your experience to challenge and improve existing practices.
  • Diplomatically addressing historical issues and turning them into effective enhancements.
  • Utilizing statutory and regulatory guidance to guide workstreams, actions, and risk management.
  • Confidently presenting to relevant groups or committees and seeking necessary approvals.
  • Collaborating with peers to drive improvements across the organization.
  • Acting as a trusted advisor for all IT service-related matters.
  • Engaging in informal meetings and team briefings to enhance understanding of corporate values, objectives, and local contexts while fostering positive relationships.
Qualifications and Experience:Essential:
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in desktop and user support.
  • Solid understanding of infrastructure, server support and management.
  • Knowledge of backup and recovery best practices.
  • Experience supporting local area networks, routing, switching, and structured cabling.
  • Familiarity with anti-malware software, network security, and systems management.
  • Desirable:
  • Degree in computing or computer science with focus on IT Systems Management or equivalent.
  • Experience in disaster recovery planning.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems, hardware, and audio-visual technologies.
  • Proficiency in Windows and PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft tools: Active Directory, Group policy, DHCP, DNS management, SCCM, Azure AD, Microsoft 365.
  • Exposure to Green technologies and energy reduction strategies.
  • Familiarity with Cyber Security procedures and protection against cyberattacks.
  • Experience in Wi-Fi technology management.
  • Implementation of Data Protection/GDPR guidance.
  • Familiarity with Office productivity tools and Microsoft Teams.
  • Experience in interpreting Government legislation related to schools.
  • Successful project management experience.
  • Skills in system evaluation and performance improvement.

  • Proficient problem-solving skills, able to analyze, interpret, and resolve IT issues.
