My client is a principal supplier of machinery to the food sector. The company has become extremely well know in their field for producing complete turnkey manufacturing solutions to the sector, designing and building specialist equipment to order.With a worldwide presence they are an excellent employer and offer extensive opportunities to the successful candidate.Job DescriptionDue to the companies continued success they are seeking aSENIOR MECHANICALDESIGN ENGINEERto join one of the companys manufacturing facilities in Peterborough.The role will be to join an existing team of professionals who design specialised equipment for projects utilised in the FMCG manufacturing sector. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of the design special purpose machinery which is used in a high speed manufacturing environment utilising 2D and 3D Cad packages.The role will mean working on a variety of projects, sometimes operating as a team leader or providing a degree of leadership for the existing designers. You will ensure that the designs and drawings meet the clients specifications are met in sometimes highly demanding situations.To be considered you must be able to demonstrate:* Previously worked as a design engineer with experience of designing capital equipment from any industry (manufacturing, aerospace, defence, turbo-machinery etc)* A recognised qualification in engineering, to degree level or equivalent* Knowledge & Experience of the use of 2 and 3D CAD systems ideally with a background in UNIGRAPHICS NX however other packages such as SOLIDWORKS will be considered* Practical understanding of DFA and DFM principles* Experience in the industrial automation and design of precision engineered components would be highly advantageousIn return the company offers:* Competitive basic salary,* 24 days holiday with three additional days at Christmas* Matched pension (to 6%),* Subsidised Health Insurance* Life insurance,* Subsidised canteen (with hot and cold food)and other benefits associated with a company of its size.
